The overall objective of HBSE is to promote a discourse that enhances our ability, as social workers, to make conceptual linkages between multiple explanatory formulations of the person-environment configuration, all while paying specific attention to both social diversity and human development. HBSE consists of three required and sequential courses, plus a range of electives. The third required course, SSW HBSE 3 looks at the history, theory, diagnosis and assessment of human psychopathology, broadly defined, and is offered in two concentrations: child and adolescent CAA , and adult and older adult AOA.
